I'd argue that western fried rice in china is inauthentic western food being said as western food. Which, just depends on how you define it. Fried rice didn't originate in the West. Appropriation - Taking an aspect of ones culture and using it to enrich your own, while still marginalizing the said culture for that aspect. Assimilation - Forcing a marginalizing group to adhere to your cultural standards, and further marginalize those that don't follow suit.
