Basically, a person is inoculated by the drug and their immune system goes haywire and attacks the myelin sheath of the brain cells. This is extremely similar to multiple sclerosis, where the immune system attacks the myelin sheath of brain cells as well. In the case of multiple sclerosis, the only difference is that the immune system is reacting to the body's own tissue vs an inoculated drug GBS is essentially a complicated immune reaction to the drug. Any drug could cause this. It has nothing to do with the drug itself.
