My friend told me of a harrowing ocean experience he had with his best friend.
He and his friend were walking the beach close enough where the surf was hitting their feet. They each held a hand of a 2-3 year old as they walked along.
The surf came in, went out, came in, went out, came in, went outchilds gone. Just like that. He said he didnt even feel her hand slipping out of his. Justgone.
They looked at each other and panic set in. About 5-10 seconds go by. Surf comes in and theres the kid. Just like thatterror over. I cant even imagine what that felt likea 10 second tease of what pure grief feels like, then elation.
I was caught in and undertow with a buddy of mine at Daytona Beach. We were floating at the break and having a good time, when all of a sudden, I was sucked under and tossed about. Had no controljust ass over head about 5 times then back above water.
My friend and I were still only 5 apart, but the coastline was disappearing fast. We were getting swept out to sea. We both thought we were goners and were really afraid, when all of a sudden, back underwater getting tossed aboutI actually hit bottomface, feet, hands and shoulders got rubbed raw from the sand, then back above water and now inside the break. Maybe lasted all of 2-3 minutes. Freaky stuff
