I don't think it's because the odds are inherently stacked against men. I think it's because men are more likely to be insufferable adult/children hybrids who don't know how good they have it.

It'd be easy to blame every disadvantage a gender has on their own individual members' flaws, but if we all did that, feminism past the establishment of equal rights would be readily dismissed.

I think examining the gender roles of society is important. In this case for example, men are more likely to approach women than the reverse. So that puts shy men at a significant disadvantage relative to shy women. Doesn't make the shy men bad people.
