You literally just asked me why consumers would want a more useful, functional product. A better question would be: Why would a company create a product that only sells to a limited number of peopleinstead of one thats far more useful and wide reaching? I dont know. But these are only questions a person has when you talk about Nintendo products.

To explain it as perfectly clear as I can do you understand

Switch lite that cant dock: only targets handheld gamers

Switch lite that can dock: targets those exact same handheld gamers. But get this rightalso gamers who already own a dock, have friends with docks. Or may be willing to give ol Nintendo some more of that stuff they call Moneyif one day they may plan to buy a dock.

First option creates an arbitrary divide in your market. Second doesnt. You see how thats better?

And then on top of this. Nintendo created a market of exclusively handheld users who have to buy an inferior product that can never dock. Then they went and made a better version of their more functional console that can dockbut literally all the benefits of this console are handheld based.

Baffling things that need to be explained.
