As a boss, it's nice to keep employees happy and because the quality has gone up I don't need to worry about flakey people applying and being a poor employee. It should also balance out financially because if I'm able to hire good employees then I won't need as many people. Or you could lose them because trying to have Razor thin "just enough" labor leads to burnout.
