For example, you can modify the DNA to generate components to perceive ultraviolet light and grow eyes to implant which have that ability. A plus would be that it'd look more natural than a bunch of metallic parts grafted onto you. Like Deus Ex, someone with biological mods will look like JC Denton vs the bucket of bolts of the old mechanical mods.
