During the hitstun of a move prior to launching, I didn't know you can see the direction of one's DI with a blue arrow that points the direction they're going. Is this same arrow shown for grabs? Yes it shows it for grabs too. It's rough to react to because it happens fast, but you can definitely ready to it.
