I think RDJ pretty much nailed Tony from the beginning personally; while there were certainly good to great superhero portrayals before Iron Man, I think it was a whole new level at the time, where you just couldn't separate the actor and character without ruining everything else in the film. Although I will say the identity of "Iron Man" was definitely utilized better as the MCU went along.I guess that's more of what I mean.
