It's a broken website. Constantly going down, constantly malfunctioning, but it's more or less the go-to website for long form discussion.

I think this is reflective of a larger issue with today's Internet. Malfunctions & downtime are way more par for the course now than they used to be. GameFAQs went down when Sonic was announced for Brawl, and that was exceptional. Reddit goes down once a month and we're like "Well, that's just Reddit, one of the biggest websites on the Internet, that's just acceptable functionality for Reddit."

What site in 2008 was as big as Reddit is today? We wouldn't have put up with that site being that bad back then. But we put up with it today because tech is now so big, there's nowhere to go. What're you gonna do? Go to Ruqqus? That's what they said about Voat. And now look at what's become of Voat.
