It was taking a scene from a beloved Batman comic, Year One by Frank Miller, and retconning in that he had pissed himself in that story. So he was writing pee fanfiction about a pre-existing work. I seriously hate when writers do this. If you're gonna write bullshit, at least don't connect it to the parts of the work that are actually good. --- I don't hold grudges.
