Steins;Gate is excellent, but it has near 0 interaction.
I dunno, I regret playing Steins;Gate. I couldn't stand most of the characters (especially the main character), nor the saturation of cringey anime cliches. Every time the game would start doing something cool, it'd immediately jump back to something painfully dumb like "Let's help the catgirl maid win a card game tournament because reasons!"

999 and VLR are definitely the best visual novels I've played. That said, I can't pass up the opportunity to shill for Spirit Hunter NG. It's a horror visual novel, and I love it for how much it breaks visual novel cliches.
  • You don't have amnesia
  • You're more physically capable than the average person, and you have a personality
  • Women in the game aren't objectified
Spirit Hunter NG is fairly linear and the boss encounters can be frustrating, but it's really gripping, and probably the most disturbing game I've played.
