Occam's razor: The simplest solution (answer) is most likely the right one I was listening to a lecture by theoretical physicist Sabine Hossenfelder. She felt that modern theoretical physics was too preoccupied with looking for "beautiful" answers. She believed a lot of workable theories for long standing problems that fit the observations were rejected by the community because they were too complex and messy. Instead they would rather prop up "beautiful" simple models even if they introduce new unobserved particles. It should be mentioned she prefers modified gravity models (MOND) over theoretical dark matter particles (WIMPs and MACHOs). She also thinks Many-Worlds and the Multiverse theories are religion for scientists. --- "But who prays for Satan?
