There's some truth to the idea that if everyone gets a college degree, they start becoming less valuable, but... where does that leave people with only high school/GED then? Since education levels are cumulative it's basically a pyramid, the higher up you go the rarer the degrees are going to be.

The question is where does that balance fit where it's a good value vs bad value but there's no one size fits all rule for everyone.

the end game is for employers to make a PhD or professional degree the new bachelor's. Then you can underpay anyone. "lmao, entry level data entry job without a PhD and 5 years experience? You're lucky if we hire you. It's a $5 an hour job, btw"
