Topic | [VGMC] Day 38! Liber Ark v Rush Hour, Murago v La Follia, Conquest v Mr. Domino |
kaonashi1 06/17/21 8:55:35 PM #54: | Liber Ark La Follia damore Conquest -why is my present a BOY?! -(decent chance FC is the next rpg I play, I think I'm in the mood for it) -yeah, the track. Unisuga writes some nice melodies! very nice Mitsuda-esque aesthetic here, in sort of that Zeal or Zain mysterious-kingdom feel. -I like the overall feel and cohesion of Murago-- the kick drum and arrangment give it a slight 'rhythm game orchestral' feel; I prefer Follia's composition, even if I think some of its instrumentation isn't great (the violin, notably); moments like 0:28 are cool though, and 1:00 is pretty rad (I prefer the second half of the track in general, which is why this track always starts on the wrong foot with me and slowly recovers) -there's a shop in Smash Ultimate's adventure mode that plays Conquest (Ablaze), which is the first time I heard the track; I always looked forward to visiting that shop specifically because of that track, especially that intro; I always wondered-- why is this shop music so hype? clearly the shopkeeper wanted me to shop til I drop -while this doesn't have as extensive an example as Id Purpose, I think Conquest still showcases Morishita's seemingly effortless ability to use some really nice chord changes while making everything sound viscerally like it belongs together. here my favourite chord change is 3:07 (or 1:06 in the calm portion); I also really like the bass that plays throughout the Ablaze portion of the track but shows up prominently here in particular. Even with a melody I'm not super fond of like the Fire Emblem main theme, Morishita puts more ambiguous-feeling chords underneath to make it something I enjoy a lot more. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
