That's a reading comprehension issue on your end, they could have paid down a year's worth of loans down month by month. That is how you add up to a large amount.

That's a smart choice, hopefully it works for you. Those people who have been banking on their student loans being forgiven since Hillary was running for president however are going to be kicking themselves as the years go by.
