I mean nobody is going to pay you millions for a translation of anything in any language unless you find a treasure map written in ancient runes that only you understand.

I guarantee you millions have been spent trying and failing to decipher Linear A.

And IRL isn't a pirate movie. If you find a long lost treasure map then someone else already found the treasure by accident a hundred years ago without the map.

The historical implications are where the value is. There's a great deal of knowledge locked behind languages that no one can read. Stuff like poetry and boring political stuff.
