Can't confirm if they truly have B12 deficiency unless you order methylmalonic acid and homocysteine levels. Atypical lymphocytes are meaningless, and the first step towards interpreting a leukocytosis is to obtain a differential and find out which cell line is most elevated, then determine if that is a natural response to infection.

I find it kind of insane that they would need to refer to hematology for something that any internist or family medicine physician could interpret.
