| No_U_L7 05/27/21 3:48:09 PM #1: | background: rolex isn't like other watch brands. you don't just go into a store, tell them what you want and they sell it to you. you need to know the dealer, probably buy other expensive watches from them and if they like you they'll put you on a waitlist. then a few months to a year later, they'll give you a call and you can buy a watch from them. because of this exclusivity, rolex is actually worth more than the retail price on the second hand market today: so i called up my local rolex dealer. i told them the model i wanted rolex: sorry, the waitlist for that particular model is extremely long me: how long would it take for me to get one? rolex: it would be a minimum of a year, maybe up to 2 (so they're saying they have to put me on a waitlist and in 2 years i'll have the pleasure of paying them $6,000 for a watch) me: ok that's fine, can you put me on the waitlist? rolex: (sighs) im with a customer right now, why dont you give me a call back later and i'll get your info to add you to the list *immediately hangs up before i even respond* ._. --- ...
