You'd get shifted onto different routes depending on how much you abused that ability. The "best" ending was to not sacrifice anyone (unless maybe there was a forced one as a tutorial I forget) I feel like there must've been a forced sacrifice, because I probably wouldn't have stopped if I hadn't had to do it.
