MATCH 1

Rhythm Thief songs are pretty consistently meh to me, to be honest, and Looting the Louvre's no exception. By my recollection, the song I like the most from this game that I've heard is Advancing to the Sky Garden, and I think why I like it more than songs like Looting the Louvre is that it has this cool swingy big band style that I think is what I want Rhythm Thief songs to sound like. Looting the Louvre sounds more cartoony by comparison in a way that I think doesn't utilize the brass instruments and that general feel it has in a way I'd like it to.

Altered Genos isn't anything special to me either, but it's a fairly clear pick over Looting the Louvre because its use of that "world" sound is more closely aligned with my music tastes. I especially like 1:40-2:27!

MATCH 2

Sanctuary-SHU is an interesting song. I've only listened to Pixel Galaxy from Snail's House before, so these two songs are definitely a neat contrast. Makes me feel like I'm exploring the city used in the image for this video. I think I liked it less on the first listen, but I definitely like it more now.

Nothing to Declare's "Let it Die" is so cool! I went back to listen to this a lot when I was going through the nominations. It's just really catchy and I like songs like this a lot anyway. It's a shame it potentially gets fed to Glessing Way round 2 because Glessing Way's my finalist in my favorites bracket and I could conceivably take Let it Die over Fogbeasts round 3 to push it to round 4 before likely losing to Rose-Killing Carmilla. Not my #1 favorite discovery this year, but it's definitely up there.
