Yes but there is a nuance I want people to consider:
It is not uncommon for trans women to have one point in their lives identified as gay men maybe they didnt have the right terms to explain who they are/were, maybe they didnt realize themselves yet they were trans women, etc etc gender can be fluid. I have known multiple trans women who have had sex with gay men (during times when the trans women would call themselves gay men because maybe they hadnt learned about trans yet). These trans women would also claim that they have always been trans women (but they just didnt realize they were trans women at the time or were still learning to understand their gender). This nuance doesnt make the gay man (who had sex with a trans woman) straight even though the gay man had sex with a trans woman. I know its hard to understand buts its actually becoming a more common experience with gay mens circles I am a part of and as I get older. In these cases the gay men are gay and the trans women are trans women with whatever sexuality they choose. Using sex to explore ones gender and sexuality is valid.
