Numerous victims of abuse don't go to the police as they are routinely ignored or it results in nothing happening. But you can't really expect the cops to do something about it now with 0 proof if she didn't go in 6 years ago when it happened. Imagine if someone could just come and accuse you of something and you get spirited away to jail on an accusation.
