You can get a used one (LTD-PB401) these days for almost the cost of just buying the two pickups new. Ive never known anything different other than the year I had a Walmart SSS strat-clone. Theres really was no reason sonic reasons for another guitar but this new one is only 5 lbs and the shape helps me play in more positions, like when sitting back in a LA-Z-BOY.
