It shouldn't make any difference if he ate at a fancy restaurant or taco bell. The fact that the cost of his meal bothers you so much means you're insecure to begin with. And while it was hypocritical, it's not like it was bad advice. If he gets covid because of it then so be it, he took that risk. People get all up in arms over nothing.
