Someone pointed out the following and it really disturbed me once it set in.

So it's been said that in shows, adults would try and be in the way of Dan and the girls. Well, if you look at what happened, there's a theme in his shows after the Amanda show.

Any show focusing on girls? They're not surrounded by adults. There's maybe 2, and never parent characters. Zoey 101, at a school in dorms, no parents, just one semi regular teacher who usually only was in for a scene or two if he was in an episode. Victorious, same deal but lived in their own home, still no parents. iCarly, infrequently had Freddy's mother, otherwise no parents. Sam and Cat, no adukts. Heck, even All That had no adults. That was basically the rule of thumb unless you count the cast members turning 18.

Meanwhile, his shows about guys? Kenan and Kel, family is right there. Drake and Josh, family is right there. Etc.

So basically, if there's guys as the focus, he won't creep, so they can have a family. If there's girls as the focus (and usually only one, at that) then there's maybe one adult. Makes it easier to not have anyone notice what's happening.
