Samus Aran (Metroid)
92/100

Much like Adam Strange, Samus captures my imagination. The possibility of space exploration and the potential dangers that come with it allow me to really ease into the role of Samus. She becomes a totem for a concept that I dream about, and for that, she does well in my personal ratings.

Yuffie (Final Fantasy VII)
94/100

A great ninja. Truly, there are few better. I fully supported Yuffie's efforts to steal all of my materia. After all, it was getting to become a bit of a timesink. Better to just rely on my weapons and be done with the purples and yellows and greens and blues. Let the kid have it all.

Laguna Loire
57/100
I have never really been able to engage with FF8. I've tried countless times, and while their are sequences and concepts that really pull me in, there's a pervasive amount of blandness that fills the rest of the cracks. Laguna really proved to be unremarkable to me; naturally there are narrative difficulties to overcome in how Laguna is presented, and I think in greater hands Laguna would be more intriguing, but FF8 always struck me as "the game after 7 and before 9", or "the game we made because the bosses said we needed to make a game".
