You say this, but Nigerian's are the most successful ethnic group in the U.S. If anything it supports the argument that Black Americans still feel the effects of slavery to this day since Nigerian immigrants tend to come from wealthy educated families already. what influences culture the most, if not history? And Nigerians also didnt have their culture and dignity stripped from them. Their parents didnt have to spend time fighting for basic human rights on American soil. They got to skip that part because of AAs.

The culture my parents grew up on and the culture I grew up on are night and day. For starters, when my mom grew up, she couldn't go down more than a few blocks without some neighbor informing her parents where she was going. We don't have that sense of community anymore. All the while, other races in my area huddle together and pool their resources to get ahead.

I implore you all to learn about wealth and how generational wealth is made. "The Millionaire Next Door" is a good book to read. The reason why I bring this up is because the lifestyle to rise to a millionaire status is the EXACT OPPOSITE of so many trends in black culture. We have a lot of cultural values that end up sabotaging ourselves.

In my immediate friend circle alone, we have 2 mothers and one expecting father and one expecting mother. The expecting are both married, the other 2 are single. Their baby daddies are deadbeats. I have another friend whose kid's father is once again a joker. The nuclear family is not the norm and racism isn't to blame for this (unless you want to delve into the production of hip hop culture). It's the decay of nuclear family values.
