The problem for me is not being capable of cultivating that connection again. I've had plenty of relationships in my life, as I'm on the older side, all healthy and functional until they weren't. But the last one did me in for the count. It's been three years since and I haven't been on a single date. And that's according to plan. I get anxiety, self doubt, and even a small panic attack if attention is drawn to me on an intimate level. I cannot rally myself to feel those things comfortably again. I willingly sabotage and abandon relationships just to be alone now and the frightening part is I'm okay with it. :/
