They're reading into something that's not there. There are plenty of reasons why people dislike the new Star Wars trilogy that is not with the alt right group. Of course that is not to say that they're wrong about people disliking it for racist and sexist reasons, but it's disingenuous how the article is putting it.
where specifically does the article say that the only reasons to dislike it are alt-right? The thesis of the article isn't "star wars is a perfect movie", it's "the star wars movies were targeted by alt right parts of the internet"

Also if you acknowledge there are people disliking it for racism/sexism then how can you also say the writer is reading into something that isn't there.

Also I don't see how you can say they're reading into something that isn't there when they straight-up posted loads of examples of it on multiple social media sites, usually with tens or even hundreds of thousands of views.
