Nah, I had playing in bands but it's hard when everyone has a different vision and different tastes.. you can always make it gel of course but I really wanted to Rock and Roll until my heart exploded on stage. I got incredibly spoiled working with musicians whose idea of writing a song was just us in a room, throwing down, striking gold and starting the improv from that one seed until we formed a good shell of a song

I had overworked the band though and it was hard to like reconcile the fact that I was writing all the music and having them tire out >_> literally got into blows with the homies and I just cut it. I got real depressed about it because it really felt like magic man.. an old school band kicking ass at that age with the right team and music we made together. I think we made it far (ie us funding our small tours in like 3 nearby states) but only because we literally gave 0 fucks about becoming famous and put all our effort into trying to write something unique that mirrors exactly what we loved about Sabbath, Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc.

Ah but,

Yer song - I loved it honestly, I really dig your tone of voice because it just sounds like it complements the guitar other than the other way around. The mix sounds really good here, like I could hear some of your breath at the end of lyrics coming through which I felt added something really special because it didn't sound forced. I think it sounds very 'homey' in a way, like it sounds like thick curtains of black (brown?) waving and mingling but the chords and harmonica give it really good contrast too sounding bright..

Crazy to think that it only gets better from here lol yer a pretty accomplished musician from what I've noticed and I think you'll kill it come the opening of bars and gigs.

Use the studio like how musicians use sheet, you got that good know how on how classical dudes would use sheet to lay out the foundation of chords and melody lines so I imagine learning how to produce is only gonna let you explore more and more - exciting stuff heh
ah shit man, thanks so much! i've definitely been working on it a lot lately lol. i bought a guitar and a harmonica like 6 months ago and just have been trying to get as good as I can, solely for the sake of enjoying doing it and growing as a person/musician. I definitely look forward to playing out once it's an option again

I hear you with bands. It's tough reconciling everyone's tastes sometimes. the band i used to be in was pretty fuckin killer i thought, i really felt like we had a shot at being professional the whole way, but then we all went separate ways in life and don't live together anymore. it's definitely equally parts a bummer but also very free in a different way. would definitely like to play in a band again one day once my own musical identity is more figured out
