There were other accusations and allegations, but that article I linked goes through many them and demonstrates that there were many inconsistencies with the accusers' stories, and shows that some of the accusers have never been revealed to the public, which opens up more questions as to the veracity of the claims.

I'm not going to defend the joke. Even Franken would admit it wasn't particularly funny, and in poor taste, but it was clearly a joke, and there are many people who were interviewed who defend Franken's character, and enough doubt there to, at the very least, question the allegations.
