The only problematic thing that I can think of with this is that it's almost exclusively 2-lane highways that are often racked by flooding during the winter and spring. When that happens, you have to detour and some of those can be a motherfucker when the next interstate is upwards of an hour out of the away. Outside of being narrow as hell, it's really not bad under normal conditions.

I remember a few years back it rained a bunch and basically the entire interstate shut down from Rolla to Lebanon. Everyone had to detour through Rolla and I'm not sure I've ever seen such packed traffic in my life.
