I always thought it was conservatives that had an issue with violence in video games, not democrats. Lol

It's whichever party is in control of the culture at the moment really. Left or right; doesn't matter. You'll get the pearl-clutchers clambering about things like violence, sex, and whatnot. The framing will change to fit with the narrative of whatever party they're appealing to even if it doesn't make any sense. Like, back when it was prohibition they'd take Irish immigrants and frame them as hopeful immigrants whose chance at a better life in America was ruined by booze, or evil catholic monsters intent on subverting honest, good, working American values with their booze depending on who they were trying to rile up that day.

Like, when it comes to women in revealing outfits, it's 'objectifying women' if they're talking to a left-wing outfit or 'selling sex to kids' if it's a right-wing outfit, or whatever changes in the message is needed for that particular set-up.

ATM since the left holds the cultural power you'll see the people who want to ban this trying to appeal to them more; so expect things like 'it's portraying minorities as violent criminals' and what-not. Course if the right was in power it would be 'teaching your children how to commit crimes' or whatever fits the current need. Either way the goal is the same, rile up pearl-clutchers so the person gains power.
