I'm 42. My 30 FWB right now I can still hold a conversation with. That's like a half a generation gap. What the hell am I even going to talk to an 18yo about? They're a child. A full generation removed from mine. Unless they're like Rory Gilmore and impossibly well read on the generation that came just before them, all I'm going to spend my time doing is explaining myself to the point of exhaustion.
This would be like my parents trying to explain Firesign Theater and Cheech and Chong to me while I'm trying to translate it to Doug Adams and Terry Pratchett...
Trying to have a deep conversation about cultural commonalities with someone 20+ years removed from your own experiences is like two people separated by 40 IQ points trying to co-write a novel.
