What does "White Abolitionist" even mean? That we're abolishing the foundation of Whiteness? How do I do that? By referring to myself as Irish rather than White? Done. I'm not White anymore. If you go by paternal bloodlines, I should be Native American anyway.
Tell me something, why is your identity defined by racial unity and a joint struggle against oppression while mine is defined solely by oppression? I can't be White and be good. I can only be good if I try to abolish Whiteness. So what am I then if I'm no longer White? Is Abolitionist going to be the new ethnic group for formerly White people who have broken free of the shackles of bigotry?
When somebody tells me I need to be willing to be the bad guy to see progress made, I say fuck them. I'm not the bad guy. I'm anti-racist. Whether you choose to accept me as an ally or not is your business. But don't go telling me that my involuntary identity makes me society's villains because I won't play that role. I don't care what degree you have, or what you're saying is 80% truth and 20% agenda, I'm still not gonna roll over and play the role of the penitent bad guy because I've never personally been the bad guy.
It's not about you specifically, but I see how you easily interpret this as you solely carrying the burden for everyone
