Not all white people are the same, some don't have as much of a history with the US as other white people. It's interesting when you want to get granular and explore nuances vs when you want to be extremely black and white. Polish people have their own specific history and fit into this in some ways, and not in others. Just like the Irish, Italians, Germans, etc. But just like all those groups, they all melt into just being white here and so benefit from many perks of that.
