I'm probably technically pan, but I just call myself bi to be simpler.

It's not that, at least not to me, I just don't understand the need to have a million different names for stuff that already has a classification.
If you like to fuck the opposite the gender exclusively then you would be straight. If you like to fuck the same gender exclusively then you would be gay. If you like to fuck both opposite and same you would be bisexual.

I don't care about the terminology, it doesn't bother me, I just get confused by it. I'm more than open to somone explaining it to me.

There's a common misunderstand that bi people are expected to like both genders equally, and that's just not the case. A bi person shouldn't have to justify who and how they want to fuck anymore than a straight/gay person.

Pan and bi are basically the same thing, some people prefer "pan" and some prefer "bi." To me, "pan" seems outdated, because in my experience it was mostly used as a sign of trans support (a way of saying I like dating trans people, too, similar to how TC is using it) but in some ways it seems more inclusive to just include trans people in their gender identity anyway.
