They skipped 11-19
The Note series numbering is even weirder.

The curved screen version of the Note 4 was known as the Note Edge, with no mention of the version number. They skipped the number 6 because up until then the Note was one number behind the S-series (S5 & Note 4 came out the same year), so skipping 6 allowed them to bring the version numbers into parity (S7 & Note 7 came out the same year). Of course, the Note 7 had major issues requiring a global recall, so finding one of those that hasn't exploded is extremely rare. They re-released the Note 7 with a smaller, less explodey battery as the Note Fan Edition, again, no version number in the name. And like the S-series, they skipped 11-19.

And then there was the Note 8.0, Note 10.1, Note 10.1 2014 Edition, and Note 12.2, all of which were tablets, not phones, and which came out way before the similar numbered phones.
