Each puzzle has twenty-five (25) clues with a 125x125 image of a game to guess
There will be about 17 puzzles total. I might do extras, but no promises.
Answers should be given in the form of [coordinate]:[name]. Example: "A1: Red Dead Redemption".
Each game only appears once, although other entries in the series may appear.
Each clue is from a game that appeared in 1990 to 1999. Any applicable system in that timeframe may appear.
I recommend downloading the puzzle and blowing it up to 2X magnification (if you need help, that is)
To help with ease of scoring, consider making new posts instead of editing old ones.
I've run a few contests here where I leave old puzzles "active" for the entire game, but I find that's kind of annoying to keep track of. So, a rule I'll test for this contest is a puzzle is only active for three rounds before it dies. Dead puzzles are off the table and give no points. Examples: When I post the 4th puzzle, the 1st puzzle is then "dead". This means players can hold off on guessing until they get double points, or say things right away for a surefire(-ish) chance at scoring.
SCORING
You get 1 point for naming the correct game in the current puzzle. Use specificity where needed.
You get 2 points for naming the correct game in the previous (active) puzzle. Use specificity where needed.
You get 5 extra points for giving a clue that completes the puzzle (i.e. the 25th correct clue)
You get 0 points for giving the correct year, system, or other extraneous info. Only the game's name counts!
You get 0 points for answers that were already confirmed. Points are a "first come, first served" basis.
LEGACY STUFF
I last ran a contest in 2019, I believe, and I kept a scorecard from then. Although it wasn't a VG-related topic, the top ten contestants have earned the amazing, fantabulous, hard-to-attain VIP invitation to this topic. In descending order of point acquisition:
