Unless I'm doing a social arbitrage trade where I want to get in on some hyped stock super early, I'd rather pick companies I'm comfortable going long on if I'm shooting for huge gains (to an extent, both ENZC and AMC have decent bull cases too, so that helped me be comfortable going big in both). But yeah, if I research a company and know, with as much certainty as is possible in the market, that I hold something valuable long term, I can ignore the noise of the market and the day traders short term. I think this is the smartest way for long term gains, without exposing yourself to crazy risks. Then there's also Lopen's strategy of selling covered calls (and reinvesting that into leaps and whatnot) that limit exposure to risk too. There are definitely strategies out there for good gains without basically gambling! Just gotta run every scenario in you're head though and always prepare for the worst. If AVCTW gets cut in half it will suck, but it's worth the risk for me when I'm comfortable holding very long term, and the warrants hitting 7 to 10 eventually is not particularly unrealistic. E: Also I was swing trading weed and green energy stocks instead of going long on them last month, so I'd be full of shit if I said it's easy to not just take profits when you have them.
