Nobody can take criticism any more. Nobody can stomach views that don't perfectly align with their own. Everything has to have the edges taken off so nobody ever faces any sort of setback. Everyone needs a participation trophy. It's fucking ridiculous. And I'm sure I've had my feelings hurt by words at some point. But the thing is: I have the mental fortitude to not let it shatter my entire world. I just let it slide off my back and move on with my life. It's really not a hard thing to do, but today's participation trophy generation seems to struggle with it something fierce.
