You might also find it horrifying that the reasons dogs love squeak toys is that it sounds like prey squealing. You know the cute thing where they shake a toy in their mouth? Also a way to "deal with" captured prey.

Anyway, my cats still aren't 100% getting along. My large, young boy cat is still regularly getting his ass kicked by the tiny old lady cat.

She's been acting a little strange lately. The rescue I was fostering her through was being difficult about arranging a vet visit for her (it was like pulling teeth just to get ahold of the woman in charge), so I told them I'd just adopt her so I can take her to my vet. She's been chewing her paw pads raw, getting litter in them, and then repeating the cycle. I bought a new litter that won't stick to her paws, but she hates it and poops directly outside the litterbox.

I can tell that her paws hurt and it's making her very reactive. I wish I could communicate to her that I'm just trying to help.
Sorry to hear that.. is it normal for cats to chew their paw pads?
