While not an exact situation, I did have an experience with a simliar parallel. I lost my best friend in 2015 and it ended...rather badly, to say the least. I was so devastated by it that I actually made an alias on Facebook and pretended to be his friend; at first, I actually intended for that facade to last indefinitely and then one day reveal myself (he haaaaaates me. Even blocked my new FB account despite me not acknowledging him at all), but I couldn't help myself, so I did it early. I haven't interacted with him since, and I've largely gotten over him. Move on.
