Something happening in the past doesn't mean it should be forgotten and ignored. Action has been taken for arresting individuals in the riot but to address the core of the issue needs time because people are just as good at manipulating rules as they are coming up with rules. The FBI still has open murder investigations, kidnapping things, etc ongoing. Sometimes people get found guilty of crimes decades later. Does that mean Cosby should be innocent cause he raped women decades ago? No. Bringing up how much time has passed as a means to forget and forgive shouldn't matter.
