I have a hard time believing a Switch port of a game that was over seven years old by that time moved the needle here, where something like DKC: TF can be near-worthless even though it needed its Switch port for exposure.
That being said, while I agree with Leon that Sonic Mania > SMB had no meaningful SFF, I'm not sure I'll ever agree that the 128 games we saw in GotD 2 were the 128 most nominated eligible games. If nothing else, I could believe 999 would have failed to make the field after reaching 2015's bracket if we had seen ZTD, but it's not like VLR wasn't also in 2015.
Anyways, my guesses at which 2020 games will make GotD 3:
Near-Locks: Final Fantasy VII Remake (The TFA argument doesn't really work against it given how easily TFA would make a theoretical 2010s movie bracket even today); Hades
Probable: Ghost of Tsushima (its GotY results here tell me it isn't another inFamous 2, though I guess a sequel could obsolete it); Ori and the Will of the Wisps; Persona 5 Royal
Coin-Flips: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (could equally go the way of 999 or Deadly Premonition among beginning-of-the-decade cult hits); Animal Crossing: New Horizons (depends on what happens to the franchise from here); Crusader Kings III; Cyberpunk 2077 (feels like it could be another New Vegas situation, though its launch being botched even by those standards doesn't help); Demon's Souls; DOOM Eternal (same as AC: NH); Genshin Impact (looks good right now, but I'm skeptical about a gacha game lasting the whole decade); Half-Life: Alyx (VR will probably become at least a bit more mainstream this decade, and chances are Alyx keeps being considered among its crown jewels)
I don't think The Last of Us Part II will make the field, considering it currently seems about as poorly regarded as Cyberpunk among GameFAQs audiences, only it lacks a possibility of updates, etc. winning them back, and a sequel would presumably take the honors over it.
