Without online classmates, I probably know around 6 people here, and with online classmates around 30. In Victoria where I lived for 9 years (population over 300,000) I would run into people I knew almost every day if I went out. It has small regular 'core' areas and I knew hundreds of people. If we're talking about my hometown of around 7,000, I will probably run into people I know walking about.
