An E6 is expected to know more than an E3 or E4. But it was questions about Navy programs, history and heritage, etc. Its been a year since I did it, so I don't remember every question, but I remember they asked me to name at least one officer commissioning program, what happened on the USS Forrestal and what impact it had on the Navy, which of the first 6 frigates is still in service, what is the Navy's birthday, what kind of program would you like to see in the Navy, etc. If I didn't know something, I was obliged to say "I dont have that answer at this time, but I'll get back to you with it" I suspect they were more looking at my bearing, uniform, etc. But I was a lowly E3 and in my first quarter at the command, so they may have taken it easy on me. ...
