I remember really not liking GTA4 nowhere near as much as san andreas when I picked it up at launch. I had pre-ordered and was pretty excited, coming off of gta san andreas and was always imagining what a next-gen GTA would be like. I also really enjoyed saint's row 1 and it's online mode, and I just sort of assumed that GTA4 would automatically do a lot of things better than saint's row 1 did.

I really disliked a lot of things about GTA4...I didn't like certain characters constantly calling whining about something (mainly roman and I think the one dude dwayne or something like that). I really disliked the car controls and is something I thought saint's row did so much better. Also, saint's rows really nailed car shooting mechanics compared to GTA4, alongside having the AI drive you around so you can chill as a passenger. There just wasn't much to do side activity-wise compared to the recent game san andreas. I also did not care for nico himself that much. I enjoyed the lost and the damned and the ballad of gay tony a good deal better than the base game.
