Mainstream, credible news outlets are typically more thorough about fact finding. Hence why gossip rags and serious news outlets have different reputations. Some mainstream news is now reporting on this, and doing so very carefully. Variety and Yahoo News are both reporting so I would expect other outlets will report in due course.
